2016 Summer Band Camp

We are fast approaching the official "kick-off" to TCHS Summer Band Camp 2016 and we are looking forward to getting started.

There are plenty of new faces as well as wonderful veterans! Please review some basic information below and let us know if you have questions!

 *Monday-Friday, August 1-5 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

  • Lunch is from 11:30-1:00 -meet in the bandhall, but please drop students off at front, circle drive, not alley loading dock!
  • Lunch is "on your own" & can be brought to school or purchased off-campus. Eat a healthy breakfast & avoid excessive sugar/acid/milk/grease (many on-line sources for info)
  • Wear light-weight, athletic-type clothes suitable for easy movement, as well as athletic-type shoes. Jeans and open shoes impede movement FAR too much for what we do...
  • Bring a filled water jug (handled, insulated-type) w/ name on it! Please drink a full glass of water before bed and upon getting up. Please do NOT wait until perspiring to drink water! One vending-machine sized bottle is good for 2 water breaks & we'll take 20 in the first hour!
  • Although we may not spend much time outdoors, initially, bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. We take our student's health & safety seriously!
  • Bring your instrument and any & all music issued for highschool!

On behalf of Mr. Larkin, our new Director of Bands, Mr. Teed, our new Director of Percussion, & Mr. Hurley, our new Director of Colorguard, we cannot wait to get started building the 2016-2017 edition of the Cougar Band! Go Cougars!

THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM!

After our meeting, registration will begin in order using your numbered ticket.  In addition to registering for the band program, students will be able to size and order their marching band shoes, shirts, and gloves.

Our meeting will begin with our Snap Fundraising Representative, Justin Lafitte!

Mr. Lafitte will provide us information about our first fundraising opportunity of the 2016-2017 school year.  Bring your smartphones or tablets to the meeting to allow students to create their accounts for the fundraiser.  Please see this link below to learn more about this exciting and efficient new fundraiser for our band program.

TCHS Winter Guard Spin-a-Thon

The Colony Winter Guard Spin-a-Thon is this Friday, March 11th at TCHS.  The Winter Guard will rehearse for 7 hours, then conclude the day with a performance in full uniform, at 8pm. This performance will be in the main TCHS gym and is open to the public.  If you have a student that's interested in being in Color Guard next year, this is a great opportunity for them to see a performance and to meet the director.

The Spin-a-Thon is the Guard’s biggest fundraiser of the year.  Donations can be any dollar amount per hour of rehearsal, or made in a flat fee donation.  On-line donations can be made through the Paypal Donation link on the right hand side of this page.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Spin-a-Thon, and thank you for your continued support of our very own TCHS Guard!!

Lava Cantina

In 2016, The Colony will become home to Steve and Ian Vaughn’s Lava Cantina, a 1,800 seat concert venue and restaurant.  On January 14, 2016, our very own TCHS Band was given the honor of performing at the ground-breaking ceremony for Lava Cantina.

“Thanks so much to The Colony High School Marching Band for closing out our Groundbreaking Party last night. It was a very special night for us and we sincerely appreciate being a part of such an incredible community!!” (courtesy of Lava Cantina’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Lava-Cantina-The-Colony-561604587313025/?fref=ts )
